Cookie and Chip are mother and son and have quite the story. Cookie is 10 years old, weighs 10 pounds and Chip is 8 years old and weighs 20 pounds. Cookie is a purebred dachshund and Chip is a dachshund mix. They were rescued at the last minute from a kill shelter. They were abandoned when their owner moved away. A few days after we got them, they became very ill with respiratory infections. Chip declined quickly and had to be rushed to an emergency hospital with a fever of 105.4 He nearly lost his life. Both of their recoveries were lengthy. Finally when they were w well enough to be spayed and neutered, Chip was found to have a testicle stuck in his inguinal canal and he neuter was more extensive and he also had 11 fractured teeth that had to be removed. Now nearly 3 months later, they are ready for a loving home! They are very sweet and gentle and want nothing more that love, warmth, good food and water. They enjoy the sunshine and their beds and blankets. They are quiet and pretty low key and would enjoy leisurely walks. They will be great indoor companions!
